New Danko Jones album coming!

DANKO JONES signs with AFM Records, announces new album Wild Cat and Spring 2017 Tour dates

AFM Records is proud to announce the signing of Canadian Rock act DANKO JONES to a worldwide deal (except Canada). After having reached their highest chart positions to date in a handful of territories with their previous album Fire Music and having been awarded Gold & Platinum singles in Sweden, Danko return with their new masterpiece Wild Cat, once again produced by Juno Award winning producer Eric Ratz.

Wild Cat is due for release on March 3rd worldwide through eOne in Canada and AFM Records/Bad Taste Records in the rest of the world.

With Fire Music (2015), the predecessor to Wild Cat, Danko reached their highest chart positions to date in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Finland and also charted in another handful of key territories. The first single ”Do You Wanna Rock” peaked at #5 on the Active Rock radio charts in Canada, making it their highest charting single in Canada in their career. The song also received massive airplay around the globe.

Danko Jones have never felt more vibrant or hungry than they are on Wild Cat. The 11-track album is a raw representation of the band’s collective musical history and influences, and without a doubt their most solid album yet.

Wild Cat teaser:

Celebrating 20 years in the rock n’roll game in 2016, Danko Jones have an impressive resume to show for the past two decades. In addition to sold out headline tours across Canada and the European continent they have also toured the US, Brazil, Japan, Australia and South Africa and done extensive collaborations with a vast number of great artists. The Canadian trio has spent months on the road with Guns N Roses, Motörhead and Volbeat and opened up for The Rolling Stones and Ozzy. Danko was recently featured as a guest vocalist on the Volbeat track “Black Rose”, one of the most streamed songs on their latest album and he also joined Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Duff McKagan (GNR), and Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) for a session with The Levee Walkers where he sang on two tracks.

The Wild Cat World Tour starts off with two shows in Finland in February and a series of shows in Europe in March and April. A Canadian tour and more European dates will be announced shortly, with other territories to follow.

“One of the most ridiculously entertaining and exciting live bands on the planet. Danko himself is a priapic whirlwind of charisma, riffs and lascivious charm.”

Evil Scarecrow head to WACKEN

WOA Festival, 3rd to 5th August 2017

I’m absolutely delighted to announce that Evil Scarecrow have been added to the bill at Wacken Festival for 2017, joining such luminaries as Amon Amarth, Kreator, Trivium, Lacuna Coil, Paradise Lost, Candlemass, Orange Goblin, Europe, Marilyn Manson and many more.

Wacken is one of the most renown metal festivals in the world and annually sees a pilgrimage from metalheads in the UK to its hallowed grounds, people who will quickly be able to school the European Festival crowds in the moves, dances, shouty bits and unique lunacy of an Evil Scarecrow audience!

Quote from Dr Hell:
We’re so freakishly excited to be bringing our show to the legendary Wacken Festival in 2017. In fact, I am not entirely sure that it has sunk in! Every good metal human knows that Wacken is a global metal institution and the opportunity to play such a historic festival is beyond an honour for us.
We will be dragging our full stage show across the English Channel and through Europe in a variety of questionable quality white vans. So, if you see some broken down tour buses on the Autobahn unloading a giant space robot and thumbing a lift, then beep your horn and give us a wave (or a lift would be even better). We’ll also be bringing our terrible pigeon German and learning the words for “crab”, “anti-gravity machine” and “eggs”.
So, break out the tin foil, raise your krabbenklauen high and prepare for the stupidest band to have ever hitchhiked to a festival.”

After their fabulously mad metal performances across the UK over the past few years, including Download & Bloodstock mainstage, all getting huge crowds robototroning, crabuloning and hurricanadoing like crazy, Evil Scarecrow announce their tour dates for the start of 2017 and beyond, including their first ever performance at WACKEN. Europe may not quite know what to expect, but damn they’re going to have a whole lot of fun finding out what the true Evil Scarecrow experience is!

Upcoming shows
Rock You Like A Hurricanado Tour’:
7th January – Yardbirds, Grimsby
26th January – Cathouse, Glasgow
27th January – The Ruby Lounge, Manchester
28th January – Rock City, Nottingham
2nd February – The Engine Rooms, Southampton
3rd February – Electric Ballroom, London
4th February – Thekla, Bristol
25th March – HAMMERFEST, Wales, main stage
3rd to 5th August - WACKEN Festival, Germany

27th May, De Montfort Hall, Leicester
Three Stages, One Iconic Venue and a whole lot of metal!

Now into its second year, we are beyond pleased to announce our first bands, a selection from each of the three stages: Onslaught, Lawnmower Deth, Kill II This, Dave McPherson, Boss Keloid, Hærken

Once again Leicestershire’s most prestigious music venue hosts one of the biggest metal events of the year with some of the finest up and coming acts joining what can only be described as icons from the world of metal.

We spoke to a few of the bands about how they feel playing Uprising at De Montfort Hall:

Lawnmower Deth
“De Montfort Hall. Who the hell doesn’t want to play De Montfort Hall. All Steve bangs on about is seeing Motorhead on the ‘Another Perfect Day’ tour at De Montfort Hall. It fits the Lawnmower ethos perfectly, it’s a tick box. Big rooms, friends, and killer bands. So, hello Leicester it is. Stand by your beds. Old men rolling into town… Now who’s going to offer us Wembley?”

Kill II This
“We’re absolutely delighted to be asked to appear at the 2017 Uprising Festival. The line-up is awesome and De Montfort Hall is a special venue. We can’t wait to bring Kill II This to Leicestershire to play for the Uprising crowd”

Dave McPherson (InMe) acoustic
“”I’m thrilled & honoured to be a part of Uprising in 2017. It’s always nice to play to new folk & try to win them over plus meet the acts playing & have a beer or three. Leicester holds a special place in my heart & the De Montfort Hall looks absolutely stunning. See you there!”

Boss Keloid
“Boss Keloid are most certainly looking forward to playing Uprising and De Montfort Hall for the first time. By all accounts last year’s event and line up was immense. A week after we’ll be going into Skyhammer Studios to record our next album, so Uprising will be a great opportunity for us to showcase our new material.”

Weare truly humbled to have received an invitation to join the mêléeat UPRISING in Leicester in 2017. Not only as a privileged part of this astounding hastilude, but as partisans of the M2TM tournament, having ourselves benefited greatly thither. Indeed, had it not been for our taking part many moons ago, our place in the lsits at the hallowed hall of De Montfort may never have come to be. We await the day with augmented anticipation! New video for ‘Breathe You In’ from The Parasite Syndicate

THE PARASITE SYNDICATE release their new single ‘Breathe You In’, and the stunning new video for the track is out now.

‘Breathe You In’ is a hard hitting slab of savage, bleak metal that seamlessly blends melodies and raw emotions, dark and delicious and another enticing taster of what’s to come from this hugely talented bunch over the next few months with the release of their debut album in February 2017.

Made by Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art, you can check out the new video here: via Youtube via Facebook

Vocalist Rich’s other passion sees him up the ante with his cooking on MasterChef: The Professionals in the semi finals, Tuesday 8pm BBC 2 sees the final 8 contestants start to battle it out!

The Parasite Syndicate singer absolutely blitzed his way through his first sessions on MasterChef The Professionals to reach the semi-finals and last 8, showcasing his incredible culinary skills and proving beyond doubt he can bring it to a kitchen with as much style as he does on a stage! Last week saw Gregg Wallace commenting “I find your dish challenging and delightful and intriguing – and bordering on genius.”
Ó’Donnchü says: “I’m on top of the world. I went for it and it’s paid off. But now it’s serious game time!”

The Parasite Syndicate are a five piece from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire who have been together for a year and was formed when Rich Donohoe left his former band DirE. The guys decided to change their name from Diris to The Parasite Syndicate as they felt this new name better represented their style and content of music.
“We have influences of Nu, industrial, death and melodic metal in our music. Our songs represent conspiracy theory, alternative history, the supernatural, collectivism, space, time, abuse and love”
Rich Donohoe
Their debut single ‘Red Sky’ was released on 18th November, second single & animated video ‘Breath You In’ in December, leading in to their debut album release in February 2017

The artwork, logo and videos were done by Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art.
Tracks mixed and mastered by Neil Hudson

Rich Ó’Donnchü – Vox
Robin Frazer – Guitar
Joe Sammakia – Guitar
Bret Richards – Bass
Stuart Dunlop – Drums
